Cambium’s mission is to train, innovate and collaborate to improve citizen protection.
This next-generation campus in the northeastern French town of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges includes several entities on one site.
Our goal? To create a shared skills and innovation foundation to support national security, regional resilience and digital sovereignty.
Cambium Formations offers training courses ranging from vocational training certificates to engineering qualifications
Sovereign technology for training, cybersecurity and defence
Des espaces professionnels à louer pour les acteurs publics et privés.
Flexible workspaces available for hire by public- and private-sector organisations
An independent, sustainable campus with strong connections to a resilient region
“Cambium” is the word used to describe the cellular layer within trees that manages how they grow and adapt to their environment.
Much like this living structure, the Cambium project adapts to modern-day challenges by delivering a comprehensive approach to security: one that is collaborative, agile and focused on innovation.
With deep roots in a high-potential region, Cambium is positioning itself as a pivotal stakeholder on a regional, national and European level that can devise actionable solutions to contemporary challenges and threats.
Nestled in the Vosges mountains, Cambium has been designed as a resilient, ecofriendly campus.
The campus is built around a strategy of energy self-sufficiency.
Our approach enables us to pursue greater energy and land efficiency by focusing on three key principles: energy conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Redevelopment of a former industrial brownfield site, maximising the reuse of existing buildings
Sensitive integration into the surrounding landscape
Dual fibre-optic connections to ensure secure data connectivity
An independent network to protect against cyber threats
Reduced reliance on fossil fuels
Renewable energy production
The campus isn’t just a place to study or work. It has also been designed to encourage users to interact, while looking out for their well-being and comfort. For example, the local area has a wide range of activities to enjoy.
The campus itself offers:
Spaces to socialise and relax
In time, accommodation suited to the needs of trainees and contributors
Site-wide accessibility for persons with reduced mobility
A partnership with local accommodation providers for furnished rentals, bed & breakfasts and hotels
A natural environment, the perfect place to focus and recharge
Cambium has a collaborative governance model that includes institutional as well as public- and private-sector stakeholders.
* CASDDV = Communauté d’Agglomération de Saint-Dié des Vosges
This governance model ensures the project remains coherent, adaptable and sustainable throughout its duration.
To bring Cambium to life, the Saint-Dié-des-Vosges urban community is drawing on the support of an extensive network of public and private partners recognised for their expertise in skills development, applied research and technological innovation.
