A remarkable campus in the heart of the Vosges mountain range

Cambium occupies almost 9 hectares (22.2 acres) on the secure site of the former Papeteries du Souche paper mill in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges. It has two main buildings:

  • The Machine à Papier building, which spans almost 15,000 m2 and will, in time, be home to Cambium Technologies and its data centre.
  • The Saint Louis building, which spans 6,400 m2 and is designed to accommodate up to 350 trainees per day. This building contains customisable training classrooms, immersive training simulators (indoor and outdoor shooting ranges and a 360° simulator), a dojo and areas reserved for operational training.

The campus also has technical areas specialising in cybersecurity, drone training, video surveillance, armed security and rescue operations.

This equipment enables comprehensive training for a range of security roles, from field operations to digital surveillance.

An ecofriendly campus at the forefront of innovation

Cambium was designed as a model for energy self-sufficiency and sustainability. It produces much of its energy from a combination of renewable sources, including:

  • Solar panels
  • Hydroelectric power plant
  • Geothermal energy

This strategy reduces Cambium’s reliance on fossil fuels.

When it comes to digital services, the site features dual fibre-optic connections and an independent network to ensure reliable, ultra-secure connectivity, protecting sensitive data against cyberattacks.

The facility was built using sustainable materials and has been designed to blend respectfully into the landscape of the Vosges mountains.

Cambium enjoys a strategic position in the Grand-Est region in north-eastern France, in close proximity to the cities of Strasbourg, Nancy and Metz, as well as several airports and aerodromes catering to business aviation.

It is within easy reach of regional, national and European connections, while nestling harmoniously in a natural, protected environment.

Cambium’s natural setting in the Vosges mountains is the perfect environment to relax and recharge. Trainees and contributors can enjoy a wide selection of activities:

Accomodation

In time, the campus will have a purpose-built range of accommodation, with a few dozen beds in private or shared rooms, accessible to persons with reduced mobility.

In addition, the local area offers a wide range of accommodation through a network of local partners. There are almost 1,000 furnished lodgings and B&Bs and over 300 hotel rooms within easy reach of the campus available for trainees and visitors.
